Once you’ve joined, just type in your question (and the topics that describe it) and press “Ask Fluther”. Here’s a breakdown of the fields:

Description

Be specific: I have a small garden in Northern Vermont, and my summer squash have never grown well. What should I do?

Adding a description is optional.

Use commas: Los Angeles, cooking, horticulture

Can I ask my question on Fluther?

Very likely, yes!

We welcome questions of all kind, with a few exceptions... Here are the collective guidelines for content on Fluther:

All content submitted to Fluther should be earnest, helpful, and productive (snark is fine, as long as it’s productive snark). Common sense will do you well. Here are the things we do not accept on Fluther:

• Content that is illegal, libelous, or harmful.
• Content that is pornographic, obsene, hate-speech.
• Spam. We hate spam.
• Content that is vague, confusing, or acts without the intention of sharing knowledge.
• Content intended for self-promotion:

  For example,
  “How can I increase traffic on my website?”
  is an okay question but
  “Is mywidgetsite.com really the best place to get widgets?”
