Information Technology Services

ITS provides round-the-clock computing and related services in support of Brookings research and administration. ITS manages a local area network linking PCs, Macintoshes and terminals to the network's resources, including Internet and a wide variety of applications software. ITS's professional staff offers instruction, consultation, file conversion, survey design, data extraction, and custom programming.

Since its beginning as the Social Science Computation Center in the 1960s, ITS has amassed a constantly growing library of databases on tape and CD-ROM.

ITS also explores new technologies in anticipation of Brookings research and education in the twenty-first century.

Computer Ethics Institute
 
As a leader in the field, the Computer Ethics Institute has provided an advanced forum and resource for identifying, assessing and responding to ethical issues associated with the advancement of information technologies in society.
