Applicant and Grant Requirements for Calls for Proposals

For Grant Applicants

RWJF will require application materials, such as a proposal, a budget, resumes and sometimes other supporting documents, from applicants when responding to calls for proposals. Finalist applicants are asked to complete a Request for Project Support and Conditions of Grant form.

For Grantees

Communications

By awarding grants through calls for proposals, RWJF can spark new ideas from the field and bring together diverse groups of people and organizations to identify solutions and achieve comprehensive, meaningful and timely change. To foster communication among grantees and with RWJF, we expect grantees to fulfill certain responsibilities and share information with fellow grantees, RWJF, policy-makers and the public. This includes:

  • planning the release of papers and other materials produced by the project.
  • presenting at media and policy briefings and other forums.

Reporting

All grantees will be required to submit reports to the Foundation on a regular basis:

Annual Grant Reporting: For projects lasting more than one year, Annual Grant Reports help the Foundation to stay informed about a project.

Final Grant Reporting (a public document): At the end of a grant, Final Grant Reports collect a comprehensive record of the activities conducted and the products produced in all the years of a grant and how they met the goals set forth in the original proposal.

National Program Grantees

Grantees of RWJF's national programs may need to provide additional information regarding their project to the Foundation, the national program office, when applicable, and outside evaluators. They also may be required to participate in periodic conference calls, webcasts and meetings, including, for many programs, a program-wide annual meeting.

Please review your CFP carefully for specific grantee requirements.
