Chris Elwell has been promoted to senior vp distribution at Sony Pictures Television.
He will oversee all business affairs and operations for the studio's domestic distribution, ad sales and digital distribution efforts, reporting to SPT president Steve Mosko.
"Chris will coordinate business affairs efforts between our different distribution businesses and make sure they are in line with each other operationally," Mosko said. "In a complicated world, his experience makes him perfectly suited to bring it all together."
Elwell, who joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2002 as senior counsel, most recently was vp legal affairs in the Corporate and Distribution Legal Group. There, he supervised legal affairs for product acquisition and distribution at Sony Pictures Television International and SPT's pay television distribution business, including its new-media platforms.
Before joining SPE, Elwell worked at IFilm Corp.
