Throughout the "HYPER BATTLE 1998" tour, Tatsumi Fujinami waged war against the nWo Japan, teaming with various wrestlers, including his Muga disciple, Osamu Nishimura, and IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kensuke Sasaki. The Dragon was successful, as he finished the series with a 3-2 record, going one up on the nWo. Things would get better at the post-tour Tokyo Dome show on 4/4, as he would upset Kensuke Sasaki before 70,000 fans and have one last reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

3. (3/14/98 @ Miyagi Sports Center) Tatsumi Fujinami & Kazuo Yamazaki beat Keiji Muto & Hiroyoshi Tenzan (16:26) when Fujinami used a figure-four leglock on Muto.
