    Profile:

Takashi Uwano's first dream in pro wrestling was to join New Japan, but he failed the introductory test and instead started on the independent circuit in 1998 for IWA Japan, where he debuted against Taiju Shiniwa (better known as Fuyuki Takahashi). While in IWA Japan, he captured the IWA Tag Team Title with Keizo Matsuda, the two beating Jun Izumida & Shoichi Ichimiya. As IWA began to run less and less, though, Uwano began to have financial problems, and decided to leave the promotion, vacating the title as a result. When Riki Choshu left New Japan in 2002, Uwano (who by this point was close to retiring as a pro wrestler) was one of the young men he targetted as a recruit for his new World Japan promotion, and Uwano's career took a positive turn. Under Choshu's watch, Uwano re-trained and strengthened his body, becoming one of WJ's top young men, and after WJ collapsed, he became part of the follow-up group, Riki Pro. When Choshu returned to New Japan as site foreman, Uwano soon followed, becoming a regular fixture on tours in 2006. Although he has yet to make much of an impact in New Japan, Uwano has been fighting hard at the bottom of cards against young lions and veterans.
