Exposure Draft of the Bill
On 21 June 2007, the Minister for Human Services, Senator the Hon. Submissions
The period for public comment on the draft Bills closed on Tuesday 21 August 2007. All comments are being given careful consideration and will form the basis of advice provided to the Minister for Human Services. The Minister will then decide whether the Bill will be amended prior to introduction into the Federal Parliament.
Consultation and public information sessions
During the consultation period Minister Ellison held a series of round table discussions with stakeholder groups.
The Department of Human Services invited members of the community to public information sessions on the proposed Human Services (Enhanced Service Delivery) Bill 2007. The information sessions detailed various aspects of the draft Bill to assist members of the public interested in submitting comments. The sessions took place in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne between the 3rd and 6th of July 2007.
