I'm going to give you some of my thoughts and memories of touring. It'll be random and most likely pointless so you've been warned. You don't have to read them but if you'd like to, I guess that's fine.

Touring in a band is a one-of-a-kind profession. We wander around, driving for hours and hours and sometimes even days straight, then pour our hearts out on stage. We do this over and over, day in and day out, for months straight. I absolutely love it. I love meeting new fun people everyday and I love playing a show every night. My only hate is being in a 15 passenger van for months straight. Everyone wants to get to the level where they can be in a bus and I really know why. It would be much nicer riding around in a moving hotel room. Sigh...

So, just yesterday we were in Chicago with a very valuable and rare day off that wasn't reserved only for driving. We chose to use the night hanging out with our good friends in This Providence. We all stayed at our friend Caiti's place. It just so happens to be the largest apartment in the entire world! It is a 6300 square foot pad with half a basketball court and a movie theater in her actual apartment! We played many games of HORSE and a few games of 2-o-n2 b-ball. Needless to say it was a great night off... a night off which likely won't happen for another two weeks or more.

I feel excited about our band and feel optimistic about our upcoming album that we are in the process of writing. Since I joined the band in December, I feel like we've only developed more and more for the better. It's really quite exciting to play a little better each day. I just hope that this isn't just my naïve opinion from onstage and that everybody in the crowd is looking at us thinking, "Wow, they suck." That would be a bummer.

Don't take life too seriously. You only get one shot.

There is no doubt in my mind the beginning of writing a story is often the hardest - not to mention the first sentence of a first entry. With that said, I'll try my best to not put you in an online slumber, but no promises. More...
