This trail passes through a research area. Do not disturb pipes, stakes and flags used to designate research plot boundaries.

Off trail travel is prohibited. Penalty for violation can be up to a $5,000 fine and/or six months in jail.

Education Programs Available

WRA - Interpretive Trail
  • A two and one-half mile loop trail that winds through the largest landslide in recorded human history
  • Interpretive signs reveal the May 18, 1980 landslide story
  • Access to Boundary Trail #1

WRA - Public Pay Telephone No public pay telephone at this location. Please be aware that cellular telephones do not function properly in most of the Monument and surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
WRA - Parking Symbol Parking for 60 cars. No official bus parking, but the parking lot can accommodate buses.
