Charity badge - a widget used on websites, blogs, social networks or e-mail for promotion of some humanitarian initiative, mainly gathering donations for charity projects.
This kind of action was initiated by Yahoo searching engine and Network for Good charity aggregator.
Some companies allow website owners or bloggers to make a personalized badge for setting up a link to someone's favourite charity, which give possibility of wide social involvement for donations.
By presented surveys, 61 percent of people give to a charity because a personal connection has asked them to make a contribution. [1]
Such way of charity proved to gain popularity among interested communities of online users. Yahoo even promote somekind of contest for gathering the biggest quantity of one time donations (not money amount) awarding the winners with honorary gift. [2]
