British Library Newspapers based at Colindale (North London) is the national archive of British and overseas newspapers. Our collections, which include popular magazines and periodicals, can be read available as originals, on microform or on CD-ROM in the Newspaper Reading Rooms.
The newspapers subset of our Integrated
Catalogue lists over 52,000 newspaper and periodical titles.
It covers all UK western language national daily and Sunday newspapers
from 1801 to the present; most UK and Irish provincial newspapers,
some dating from the early 18th century onwards; newspapers from
around the world in European languages, some dating from the 17th
century onwards; and a wide range of UK and Irish popular periodicals.
The British Library also holds very important collections of early English newspapers (i.e. from the 17th and 18th centuries), including the libraries of the Revd Dr Charles Burney (1757-1817) and John Nichols (1745-1826). These titles are not listed in the main newspaper catalogue (see above).

The Newspaper Publishers Association (NPA) is the trade association for British national newspapers. Its role is to represent, protect and promote the national newspaper industry. It was founded in 1906, and its current members comprise: Associated Newspapers, Express Newspapers, Financial Times, Guardian Newspapers, Independent Newspapers (UK), MGN (Trinity Mirror national titles), News International and Telegraph Group.
The Stationers' Company is a Livery Company of the City of London, closely connected with the modern visual and graphic communication industries derived from the original trades of the guild. Our associated industries include printing, papermaking, packaging, advertising, design, photography, film and video production and book, periodical and electronic as well as newspaper publishing and production.

The John Frost Newspaper Archive provides original newspapers and press cuttings to researchers, producers and journalists. It began in 1964, having grown out of a hobby started by John Frost in the early 1930s. The collection consists of 80,000 British and overseas newspapers and periodicals, and 200,000 press cuttings reporting events from 1640 to the present day.
