Knight's Housing and Community Development Priority: To provide all residents with access to affordable and decent housing in safe, drug-free neighborhoods. To provide a continuum that includes everything from services for the homeless to affordable opportunities for home ownership.

  • What Works in Affordable Housing
To help inform state and local efforts to find fresh solutions to affordable housing challenges, Knight Foundation joined forces with The Brookings Institution and The Urban Institute to examine the effectiveness of seven decades of affordable housing approaches in achieving important community-wide goals.
  • EITC Impact Survey - With Knight support, the Brookings Institution has surveyed the distribution of the EITC within the nation's 100 largest metropolitan areas as well as selected Knight communities to discover where working poor families live.
