Discussion Rules
The ground rules for all discussions on the site are set out in the Terms of Service. In addition, we'd ask you to respect the following more specific rules.

General
  • Respect the moderators. This is pretty simple. If your thread is closed, don't repost it. If you're warned about something, follow the instruction. Don't attack moderators for enforcing the rules. If you have a problem with how a moderator is enforcing the rules (or the rules themselves) e-mail Mr Bond about it.
  • Inappropriate images. Threads or posts linking to "babe" or porn content will be deleted. We have younger viewers for whom the content isn't appropriate.
  • The HL2 Leak. Yes, yes, we know HL2 was leaked before release. Now that the game is out, discussing the leaked material is now allowed (including posting screenshots). Discussion of where to find or download the leak is still strictly off limits and posting links is bannable. It's still illegal software.
  • Cheats. Multiplayer cheats and hacks wreck the game for everyone. Do not link to cheat sites or discuss where to find them -- this is bannable. Singleplayer cheats/trainers are fine.
  • Disputes. If you have a problem with another forum member or site staff, PM or e-mail them about it. This is not an excuse to be offensive in the PM/e-mail. Do not start a forum thread or attack them in the discussions.
Avatar & Signature Sizes
Big signatures make threads hard to follow and increase loading time. While they may look cool the first time, they make forum-browsing a pain. Please also refrain from using flashing animated signatures which disrupt browsing. Signatures can be a maximum of:
  • 4 Lines of text
  • 400 (width) x 80 (height) image with 2 lines of text
Max filesize: 60kb

Just resize your signature to fit these requirements and you won't have a problem. Note: Any combinations of images or text that end up the same size (or smaller) than what's in the rules are ok. However, this is subject to the image being no larger than 400x80 in any case.

Avatars may be up to the dimensions of 64x64 pixels and 35kb in size.

Bans
When these rules are broken, you may be banned. You may or may not receive a warning depending on the seriousness of the breach.
