Never used us before and thinking of applying for a Pass?
If you are doing research and the British Library's collections
could help you, you are welcome to come and use them. We support
researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs in every subject across
all fields of study.
Why do I need a Pass?
As custodian of the UK's national collection, the Library has a
responsibility to safeguard it for future generations; to protect
the collection from damage, theft, or any other potential cause
of harm.
To help us to do this you must provide proof of identification.
See our Reader
Registration pages for details of what you will need to bring
with you.
