Background: I've been reading comics since before I could actually understand the words on the page, and I became a fan of the Fantastic Four with #254 which I received for my eleventh birthday. Growing up in a small town, I had few things to do and few friends to do them with, so I spent a great deal of time reading.

I went to the University of Cincinnati right out of high school and earned a B.S. in graphic design. I spent a couple of years doing traditional print design before I taught myself HTML and how to design for the Internet. After spending a few years doing web design for various companies -- and teaching myself Javascript, MySQL, and PHP -- I became Web Adminsitrator for Wright State University, where I recently completed my M.B.A.

I also do a fair amount of research on various aspects of comic books. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Marvel Chronology Project, write the regular column "Incidental Iconography" for Jack Kirby Collector (starting in #40) and was named Comics' #1 Fan by Diamond Distributors in June 2003.
