Members
The Consortium network was formed so that agencies could share information and co-ordinate their work to provide a more effective response to the needs of some of the world's most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people - street children.
The Consortium member agencies provide funding, operational partnership, training, technical and campaigning support to projects for children who live or work on the street or who are at high risk of taking to street life.
Although member agencies operate autonomously they all share the same guiding principles.
Ours aims are:
- To build a network of information and expertise that organisations can share to develop the most efficient and cost-effective strategies for working with street children.
- To raise public awareness - something which is very hard for a single NGO to focus on.
- To lobby National and International governments until the rights of the street child have been included in social policies.
- To monitor and promote children's rights in line with the commitments made under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
