Dublin rock troupe Bell X1 will be celebrating the American release of the top-selling Irish album "Flock" with their first extensive North American tour.

Starting March 12 in Toronto, the quartet tours through major cities like Boston, Chicago, San Francisco before winding up in Seattle at the end of the month. The stint also includes a sold-out St. Patrick's Weekend show at New York's Bowery Ballroom.

The tour comes on the heels of Bell X1's first U.S. album release on Feb. 19 via Yep Roc. "Flock," the band's third full-length, was released in Ireland in 2006 has since gone five-times platinum there.

"We've reached a tipping point with America," frontman Paul Noonan tells Billboard.com. "We live in an online era where music is devalued, so doing shows and making the live experience more special is the place for us to win over new crowds."

A strong live show has fueled the band back home. In Ireland, Bell X1 is behind only U2 when it comes to audience draw. (The gap, though is substantial. U2's last gig in Ireland was in 2005 at the 82,000-capacity Croke Park; Bell X1's biggest was at the 10,000-capacity Malahide Castle.)
