Jack Johnson scored his second U.K. No. 1 album yesterday (Feb. 10) as "Sleep Through the Static" (Brushfire/Universal Island) debuted at the top. "Now You're Gone" (Hard2Beat) by Basshunter featuring DJ Mental Theos started a fifth week atop the singles survey.

Johnson's 2005 album "In Between Dreams" took 44 weeks to reach No. 1 in March 2006. He unseats Adele's "19" (XL Recordings), which dips to No. 2 as her single "Chasing Rainbows" falls 2-3. In so doing, the track trades places with Nickelback's "Rockstar" (Roadunner), as the band's "All The Right Reasons" album holds at No. 3.

The new album chart also had good news for British electronic act Hot Chip, who followed last week's No. 6 singles debut with "Ready for the Floor" (EMI, now at No. 7) with a No.4 start for the album "Made in the Dark." Mary J. Blige also enjoyed a top 10 album debut as "Growing Pains" (Geffen) opened at No. 6, her best U.K. placing with a studio release since "No More Drama" reached No. 4 in 2001.

English rock'n'roller Billy Fury, who died in 1983, climbed 15-10 with the compilation "His Wondrous Story," thus reaching the U.K. album top 10 for the first time since "Billy" hit No. 6 in 1963.

On the singles chart, Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music" (Def Jam) reversed last week's 4-5 move, while David Jordan's "Sun Goes Down" (Mercury) climbed 10-5. Scottish chart veterans Wet Wet Wet scored their first top 10 entry in 10 years, and 13th over a near 21-year chart career, at No. 10 with "Weightless" (Dry).

New in the top 20 were English soft rock favorites the Feeling, at No. 12 with "I Thought It Was Over" (Universal Island), Morrissey with "That's How People Grow Up" (from his new Decca "Greatest Hits" album) at No. 14 and Goldfrapp's "A&E" (Mute) at No. 18. Kylie Minogue's "Wow" (Parlophone) made the top 20 for the first time in its eighth chart week, climbing 22-20.

Amy Winehouse, who won five Grammys last night, is in a seventh consecutive week atop Billboard's European Top 100 Albums survey with "Back to Black" (Universal Island). "Apologize" (Mosley/Blackground/Interscope) by Timbaland presents OneRepublic, meanwhile, is in the 12th week of its epic No. 1 run on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles. That's now the longest stay at the summit since "Hips Don't Lie" (Epic) by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean spent 13 straight weeks there in the summer of 2006.
