View Scheduled Construction Lane Closures
To ensure that the needs of the traveling public are met today and
into the future, it becomes necessary to rehabilitate, replace or
improve certain components of the Thruway’s aging infrastructure.
Several studies and projects are carried out each year that result
in less traffic congestion, improved and more efficient toll lanes,
an overall improved infrastructure and various other customer oriented
improvements system-wide.
Various studies involving noise analyses, alternative feasibility,
corridor and toll collection improvements, potential environmental
impacts, and alternative energy projects help to develop a prioritized
Capital Improvement Plan to address the structural, safety, capacity
and operational needs of the Thruway. These studies eventually result
in design projects to implement the necessary improvements.
