On Friday, Tommy Lee Jones was at the Arlington Theater to answer questions from Pete Hammond. The thesp spoke candidly about his career. One little-know revelation: Jones appeared in the original “Charlie’s Angels” pilot (the character eventually became Bosley). “I’m very proud of that,” he deadpanned. Jones received the American Riviera Award from Andrew Davis, who directed his Oscar-winning turn in “The Fugitive.”
On Saturday, State Street swelled with crowds hoping to catch a glimpse of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie entering the Arlington. Jolie was in town to collect the Outstanding Performance of the Year Award for “A Mighty Heart” from surprise presenter Clint Eastwood. Having directed Jolie in “The Changeling,” Eastwood praised her as “an intuitive actress,” adding, “I’ve never worked with anyone the camera romances as much as it does her.”
