The ENDY program awards a number of fellowships and assistantships each year to qualified applicants. In addition, students are supported with funds from external fellowships and research assistantships tied to individual faculty members’ research programs.

Students interested in financial assistance should complete an Application for Assistantship from the Graduate School and forward copies to both the Graduate School and ENDY Program office. Annual Fellowship and Assistantship opportunities are listed below:

ENDY Distinguished Doctoral Fellowship (DDF): The most presitgious fellowship offered by the University of Arkansas. The DDF carries with it an annual stipend of $30,000 + paid tuition. To qualify, applicants must have graduate GPA of at least 3.8 (4.0 scale), GRE verbal + quantitative score = 1200 or greater, GRE analytical writing score = 5.5 or greater. Fellowship is renewable for up to 4 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree.

ENDY Doctoral Academy Fellowship (DAF): The DAF carries with it an annual stipend of $15,000 + paid tuition. To qualify, applicants must have graduate GPA of at least 3.65 (4.0 scale), GRE verbal + quantitative score = 1100 or greater, GRE analytical writing score = 5.0 or greater. Fellowship is renewable for up to 4 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree.

ENDY Graduate Assistantship (GA): Standard ENDY GAs carry a $10,000 stipend + paid tuition for the 9-month academic year. Students receiving a GA are expected to assist with teaching of introductory courses in various academic departments at the university. Assistantship is renewable for up to 3 years, contingent on adequate progress toward the degree.

ENDY Doctoral Fellowships (DF): A limited number of DFs are available to students already holding an ENDY GA. The DF carries a $3,000 stipend and is offered to qualified ENDY GAs as an award to be used during summer to advance the dissertation research.

Middle East Studies Program (MEST): Occassionally, qualified ENDY applicants may earn financial support from the Middle East Studies Program (MEST).
