Hot Shot Debuts: "Making the Band" act Day26 grabs Hot Shot Debut honors on The Billboard 200 this week with its self-titled new album, which starts at No. 1. This is the highest bow for a debut album by a group since fellow "Making the Band" graduate Danity Kane's eponymous first set entered atop the chart in 2006. Day26 also launches at the summit on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, earning the boy band a second pair of Hot Shot Debut stripes for the week. Meanwhile, new single "Got Me Going" enters the Hot 100 at No. 73.

On Top Country Albums, Hot Shot Debut honors go to Starbucks exclusive "Vintage Country: The Golden Age Of Country Music," which bows at No. 11. The collection, featuring country greats like Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, also enters The Billboard 200 at No. 65 and is one of a number of Starbucks exclusives that debut on the big chart this week.

Over on the Hot 100, Hot Shot Debut stripes belong to a cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" by Fall Out Boy featuring John Mayer. The song comes from Fall Out Boy’s new CD/DVD package "Live In Phoenix."


Greatest Gainers: Country superstar and "The Celebrity Apprentice" finalist Trace Adkins earns Greatest Gainer honors this week on both The Billboard 200, where his "American Man: Greatest Hits Volume II" flies 58-26, and Top Country Albums, where the set jumps 10-3. But that’s not all: Adkins, who performed live on the "The Celebrity Apprentice" finale last week, also earns Greatest Gainer/Digital stripes on the Hot 100 with new single "You're Gonna Miss This," which leaps 40-12. Meanwhile, the track arrives at No. 1 on the Country Songs chart.

On Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, the Greatest Gainer mantle belongs to Gnarls Barkley for its sophomore album "The Odd Couple," which moves 52-14 in its second week. A last-minute street date change may have left some brick & mortars without stock during release week, perhaps accounting for the rise in sales in week two.

Back over on the Hot 100, "Lollipop" by Lil Wayne featuring Static Major sews on Greatest Gainer/Airplay stripes as it climbs 9-7.


Pacesetters: A $7.99 sale price at Circuit City for "Lost & Found" helps Ledisi earn Pacesetter honors on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The singer’s first set for Verve, which debuted on the chart 31 weeks ago at No. 10, shoots up 35-23 this week with a 61% sales increase, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album has sold 124,000 copies overall, 29% of which have come from core R&B panel stores. The album also re-enters The Billboard 200 this week at No. 143.

On Top Country Albums, gospel collection "How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites From The Grand Ole Opry: Live" takes the Pacesetter crown as it climbs 29-18 with a 33% sales increase to 5,000 units.

Over on The Billboard 200, the soundtrack for "Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns" sews on Pacesetter stripes with a 148-116 jump on the back of a 6% sales increase, thanks in part to a $10.99 sale price at Circuit City.
