T.I., Ciara, Flo Rida and Jim Jones are among the artists heading to the "Hip-Hop Team Vote: Turn Up The Vote" summit in Philadelphia on Sunday (April 20) to emphasize the importance of the youth vote. Sponsored by The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, Hip-Hop Research and Education Fund and PowerPAC, the event will take place at Temple University just in time for the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.

Mike Jones, Rich Boy, Styles P, Chrisette Michele, Lyfe Jennings, Webbie, Lil X, Green Lantern, Gorilla Zoe, Lil Boosie, Alexis y Fido, O'Neal McKnight and Emily King are among the other artists who are confirmed to participate in Sunday's event.

"We are going to encourage young people to go out to vote," T.I. said via a statement. "I personally know the value of having the right to vote and it taken away from you, but I will add my voice to help inspire others to take seriously this right and responsibility."

Hip-Hop Action Network co-founder Russell Simmons added, "T.I.'s commitment to serve and to give back to the community is a shining example of the best of hip-hop. The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and the Hip-Hop Research and Education Fund continue to provide opportunities for artists and others to empower youth."

Beside getting out the vote, T.I., Simmons and company also aim to spread awareness about other social and political issues like poverty, health care, education, the war in Iraq and alcohol and drug prevention.

In addition, "Hip-Hop Team Vote" and CPX Interactive have teamed up to create "Vote For It 08," a series of video PSAs featuring celebrities promoting voter registration. Artists that have already taped clips include Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J and Ciara. Additional filming will take place backstage during this weekend's summit.
