About this site

Virtual Finland, established in 1995, was given a completely new look in 2004. You can find out more about the new appearance from here. We felt that visitors might appreciate a few words of guidance on using our web material. This information will come as no surprise to most of you but in case it does; here goes

A lot of people think Government sites on the Internet are dry and predictable, offering too many speeches, policy statements and press releases.

Well, that may be true of some but it is not the case with Virtual Finland.

Virtual Finland does not offer any of that type of material at all. What it does is operate like a magazine covering a wide array of topics through articles written by named authors.

In our articles, for example, the views expressed are solely those of the writers themselves.

Virtual Finland is not responsible for the content of external sites to which it has links and disclaims responsibility for damage or harm caused as a result of the use of its own or any other web material.

We welcome comments and questions from our readers but here are some tips that could help you obtain answers to your enquiries quicker than you think.

Before you e-mail a question to us here in Helsinki you may well find the answer among the extensive material on our web pages.

We also provide a wide array of links relevant to all kinds of matters Finnish. Have a glance at them.

Many of the questions sent to us here in Helsinki can also be answered by the Finnish Embassy in your country, either by phone, fax or e-mail.

Here you can find the addresses of all Finnish diplomatic Missions, many of which have their own web sites.
