General Hospital: Night Shift Returns!
Yes, you read correctly! "General Hospital: Night Shift," the "GH" spin-off that focuses on the lives and loves of the staff at one of TV's most infamous hospitals, is coming back for a second season. Thirteen new episodes will begin airing on SOAPnet this July.
You'll remember that the first season featured Robin Scorpio and Patrick Drake's (Kimberly McCullough and Jason Thompson) up-and-down relationship as they contemplated adopting a baby, Jason's (Steve Burton) forced community service at the hospital, and psycho Nurse Jolene (Amanda Baker, now Babe on "All My Childrens") killing patients as the resident "Angel of Death." So what can we expect from season two? Look for returning characters from the first season, some new characters -- and most exciting, the return of some very familiar faces from "GH"'s past. We're obsessed with character returns, so this is, like, the ...Full Article

Jake and Jessica's "Nailed" Gets Screwed
Few films have sounded as potentially oddball-interesting to us lately as the Jessica Biel/Jake Gyllenhaal starrer "Nailed." A story about the love between a woman with a nail lodged in her head and a clueless senator, "Nailed" is being directed by David O. Russell ("Three Kings," "I Heart Huckabees") -- a filmmaker with a reputation for stirring up on-set drama. Production on the movie has been shut down three times since it began filming in Columbia, S.C. -- but despite what history would dictate, it's not Russell's fault.
DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com reports that rather, the film's financing is to blame. Apparently Capitol Films's inability to pay its cast and crew in a timely manner has had unions pulling their people off the project left and right. First, the stars walked when the Screen Actors Guild insisted they get paid. Next, it was the crew, on their union's orders. ...Full Article

Mischa Designs Bags for Brits
The Brits really are getting all the style action these days -- the "Sex and the City" premiere, Patricia Field's line for Marks and Spencer, and now Mischa Barton's bags. The London-born star, who played Marissa on "The OC," has created a line of handbags to be sold at U.K. department stores Fenwicks, John Lewis, and Debenhams.
Mischa, 22, is known for her quirky, retro-chic look and love of vintage clothes, so we can't wait to see how she'll translate that to accessories. Word is that the bags will be made from snakeskin, leather, and fabric, and finished with a flower logo hand drawn by Mischa herself -- a natural choice, given her "nouveau hippie" style.
The actress, whose first TV appearance was on "All My Children" at the age of 10, recently moved to Paris and has been setting Cannes on fire with a string of haute couture hits on the red carpet.
