World Heritage
Sites
 UNEP-WCMC
has been working in close collaboration with the World Heritage
Convention, IUCN and UNESCO to provide technical support for
the protection and management of natural and cultural heritage
sites worldwide.
- Review of the World Heritage Network:
Biogeography, Habitats and Biodiversity - Working in collaboration
with IUCN and UNESCO,
UNEP-WCMC prepared a comprehensive overview of the World
Heritage Network.
- Support to World Heritage
Convention - UNEP-WCMC provides technical support to
IUCN and UNESCO (and the World Heritage Committee) to assist
in World Heritage Site Evaluation and monitoring processes
and thematic reviews.
- World Heritage Sites
- Standard format information sheets on all sites inscribed
on the World Heritage List for natural or mixed natural
and cultural reasons. These information sheets are compiled
and maintained by UNEP-WCMC on behalf of UNESCO.
- World Heritage IMapS - Allows
users to view information on the distribution of natural,
cultural and mixed World Heritage Sites around the world.
UNEP-WCMC holds both geographical and non-spatial information
on each of the sites on the world heritage list and provides
links through to further information held on the UNESCO
Website.
- Contributions to the Global
Theme Study of World Heritage Sites
