UNEP-WCMC manages, analyses and delivers information on animal and plant species in support of their conservation and sustainable use, and provides support to others in information management.

Species Databases

  • UNEP-WCMC Species Database - Providing detailed information on species of conservation importance.
    Subsets of data from the Species Database have also been created to meet different user needs.
  • CITES Trade Database - A unique resource with over 8 million records of trade in wildlife, this database is regularly updated with data from the annual reports submitted by the Parties to CITES
