Supporting EU Wildlife Trade Regulations

UNEP-WCMC provides support to the European Commission in implementing the EU Wildlife Trade Legislation. This legislation provides for the implementation of CITES within the EU, and additional measures.

In addition to managing the database of species listed under the EU Wildlife Regulation, the Centre provides reports to each meeting of the EC Scientific Review Group (SRG), on species listed by the Regulation.

A Trade Information Query Tool is also available, allowing species searches and downloads for European Community suspensions and EU SRG opinions, CITES export quota information, and CITES Notifications relating to trade bans and suspensions.

UNEP-WCMC compiles the European Community's annual reports to CITES from the annual reports submitted by the EU Member States. These trade data can be accessed via the CITES Trade Database.
