crucial for social and economic development. The overseas Pakistanis, like so many
others, want to know about their motherland but also to make up for the distance which
enhances the quest for knowledge about one's roots, the pace of development and the
institutions and personalities involved in shaping the destiny of scanty or scattered with
the result that the inquisitive visitors has either to rummage through various books or to
depend upon whatever available.
The present volume is a modest attempt to
collect information on Pakistan's history, culture, geography, politics, economy and other
aspects of social and cultural life in which visitors are invariably interested. |
