Imparja
IMP Imparja Television

Imparja's first program was the cricket Australia vs. Sri Lanka, and was a test transmission on 2 January 1988. Two weeks later, 15 January 1988, Imparja officially opened. Imparja is owned and operated by indigenous Australians. In December 1998, Imparja was aggregated with the area of QSTV.

 


2004-

16.02.04 - This new package was launched on Monday, 16th February 2004. At the same time the station's base time changed from NT Standard Time to Queensland Standard Time (in line with Seven Central).

2003-

A totally original news opener for Imparja, with brilliant graphics and an original indigenous theme. The news service mostly presents stories from the National Nine Network, using Imparja's own graphics and newsreaders to present the stories.

 
 
   
2003

Imparja's station mascot is Yamba the honeyant, who not only puts all the local kids to sleep at 7.30 each night, but also stars in the children's show 'Yamba's Playtime'.

 
   
2002-2004

These idents feature some nice original CGI animations made specifically for use by Imparja. The slogan which appears at the very end of the ID, RLTERRKE ATNYENETYEKE is Arrernte (local Alice Springs-based Aboriginal language) for KEEPING STRONG.
