At the end of 2005 Channel Ten began airing the Australia's Brainiest series, featuring comedians, Big Brother housemates and sports stars.

Bert's Family Feud, Nine Network (2006-)
The bait to bring Bert back to Nine was this show, Bert's Family Feud, however it debuted with very poor ratings and wide speculation it would soon be axed. Deal or No Deal, Seven Network (2003- )

Based on the original Dutch format, the Australian version of Deal or No Deal began as a 1 hour prime-time programme hosted by Andrew O'Keefe, but became the 5.30pm 30-minute gameshow it is today in 2004. It has been attributed to helping Channel Seven's once second-rate 6pm news rise to the #1 spot.

The Price is Right, Nine Network (1993-98, 2003-05)

The revival of a format almost as old as television itself, this time hosted by Larry Emdur on Channel Nine. In 1998 the show was axed, but was brought back in an almost identical format in 2003. As it competed with Seven's enthralling Deal or No Deal, Price tried to make the show as exciting as it by introducing new dramatic lighting, more expensive prizes and even a contestant heartrate monitor at one stage. It couldn't ourate the Deal though, and was axed at the end of 2005.

Temptation, Nine Network (2003- )

Nine launched this reincarnation of Sale of the Century in May 2005, with former weather presenter hosts Ed Phillips and Livinia Nixon.

Wheel Of Fortune, Seven Network (1981- )

The Channel Seven version began with host Ernie Sigley in ADS-7 Adelaide in 1981, and is now hosted by Larry Emdur from the ATN-7 studios in Sydney. It has also seen hosts John Burgess, Tony Barber, Rob Elliot and Steve Oemcke at the reins, and hostesses like Adriana Xenides and Sophie Falkniner. The show was rested in 2005 and brought back with new host Larry Emdur the following year, but was finally axed for good in June 2006.
