Pink plateau

Since Lord Browne resigned, much has been written about an alleged 'pink plateau' in the City (see Ivan Massow, page 42-3). For clever women in City law firms, the ceiling isn't a colour, or glass - it's concrete. In the top 25 legal firms only 20 per cent of solicitors made partners in 2006 were female. Shocking when half of the recruits to the legal profession are female.
