Cook Islands

A RNZN Chief Petty Officer remains posted as the Pacific Patrol Boat technical adviser.

Malaysia (HQIADS)

One RNZN, One NZ Army and Three RNZAF Officers are posted to the staff of the Headquarters Integrated Area Defence System in Butterworth Malaysia (HQIADS).  HQIADS is the permanent headquarters for the Five Power Defence Arrangement between Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Malaysia

One NZ Army officer is posted as instructor to the Malay Officer Training School in Pulada. 

Papua New Guinea

New Zealand conducts exchanges and training with Papua New Guinea on occasion. There are currently no NZDF personnel in Papua New Guinea.

Singapore 

New Zealand Defence Support Unit South East Asia (NZDSU) was established following the withdrawal of New Zealand Force South East Asia in 1989 to maintain a New Zealand presence in the region that would facilitate the New Zealand Defence Force exercising and operating with parties to the Five Power Defence Agreements (FPDA).

The role of the NZDSU is to support New Zealand's defence and security commitments in South East Asia.

Tonga

A NZ Army WO1 remains posted to Tonga as a Technical Adviser (Mechanical).  

Vanuatu

One NZ Army engineer officer remains posted as the Officer Commanding of the Vanuatu Mobile Force engineer platoon in Port Vila.  One NZ Army Staff Sergeant remains posted to the Vanuatu Mobile Force engineer platoon as the Foreman of Works in Port Vila.

Philippines

New Zealand conducts exchanges and training with the Philippines armed forces on occasion. There are currently no NZDF personnel in the Philippines.
