A '''Daybeacon''' is an unlighted fixed structure which is an aid to navigation for water borne vessels . The structure is equipped with a dayboard for daytime identification. A dayboard is the daytime identifier of an aid to navigation presenting one of several standard shapes (square, triangle, rectangle) and colors (red, green, white, orange, yellow, or black). In shallow waters, near land and in river systems, daybeacons are the most common aid to navigation as they are relatively inexpensive to install and maintain and unlike buoys, their position does not change as they can not drift. ==See also== * Daymark * Buoy * Landmark * Sea_mark ==Reference== Glossary of terms in any USCG Lights List Category:Navigation
