Associated Students executive elections often unravel into pulse-pounding affairs where dreams are crushed or made. In contrast, the A.S. representative elections are quieter, but no less important. Representatives have the duty of making sure the student voice is heard on the A.S. council.
Student Research Symposium is now taking registrations
Enthusiasm for next semester’s Student Research Symposium appears to be growing.
The San Diego State Division of Research Affairs began accepting applications Monday for the event, which is slated to showcase student presentations Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 of next year at Aztec Center. Registrations must be completed online through the Division of Research Affairs Web site by Feb. 2.
Returning for its 52nd year, the International Peace Village will boast San Diego State’s largest cultural showcase experience today in Montezuma Hall from noon to 3 p.m.
Police say that six men were involved in an attack two weeks ago at SDSU fraternity
A woman was sexually assaulted at the Kappa Alpha fraternity house at 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 15, according to a San Diego State Police Department bulletin.

Students commemorate the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day by hosting events
There are 33.2 million people with AIDS. One child dies of AIDS every minute. 5,700 people die of AIDS every day.

A non-San Diego State male student under the influence of drugs was arrested at Aztec Center. According to the SDSU Police Department Media Bulletin, police received a call about a man who was repeatedly harassing employees inside the government office. J. Healy was found under the influence of narcotics and in possession of a syringe. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.
