Sophomore Brooke Vessey wins three events to lead the Aztecs over Fresno St.
With all of the hard work they have put forth in recent weeks, the San Diego State swim and dive team earned a much needed victory against a Fresno State squad in its inaugural year. Coming off of a tough loss against division rival Colorado State, SDSU cruised to an easy 152-126 win at the Aztec Aquaplex on Saturday.

The San Diego State swimming and diving team picked up two victories against New Mexico and Air Force on Saturday, while dropping its third match to Colorado State. SDSU participated in a four-team meet at the Aztec Aquaplex. The two victories and one loss put the Aztecs at 2-2 overall and in Mountain West Conference play.

Captains lead a team full of freshmen
Football season may be the main focus of sports on campus, but the San Diego State swimming and diving team is attempting to make some noise as well. The season is just around the corner, and SDSU is chomping at the bit to get started. The Aztecs face off against Utah at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Aztec Aquaplex.

San Diego State swimming and diving head coach Mike Shrader knows a little something about rebuilding a team. After losing several key contributors from last year's squad, SDSU has reloaded and is poised for another big season this year. "You have to start with a strong foundation and good work ethic, then go from there," Shrader said.
