Last year, the San Diego State women’s soccer team was poised for a breakout season. Mike Friesen had just taken over as head coach, four talented freshmen had just joined the team and 18 letter winners were returning. But one player in particular, midfielder Cat Walker, was one of the big reasons for the high expectations. This perseverance has been key for SDSU's development as a team, but in head coach Mike Friesen's mind, it is still missing one more important quality. "(UNLV is) a very confident team and I think that's been something we've been missing a little bit," Friesen said. "They're a team that isn't the most talented team in the conference, but they're hardworking, they're confident in their abilities, they know who they are and they're very good about playing within their own game."
