What:

BikeSummer is a month of celebration and activism featuring bicycle, transportation, and community events starting with the July 30, '99 Critical Mass.  Politics, bike culture, rides, speakers, street theatre, art, classes, workshops, music, films, critical masses, midnight masses.  Make plans now to join us in the velorution as we welcome bicyclists and transportation activists from around the world.

Hot off the presses! We created a zine to explain some of the ideas/motivation/philosophy behind BikeSummer. Get a paper copy of it at Critical Mass or at BikeSummer events or check out the online BikeSummer zine.

Events:

New events still being added!

Why:

Bicycling and transportation in general are issues that affect absolutely everyone.  Unfortunately our political leaders have not done enough to improve our current situation.  Therefore we are bringing in people from all over the world for a bit of cross pollination, inspiration,  and motivation.  So join us in the city that spawned Critical Mass to help us create the velorution, the revolution that will not be motorized. For more info, check out our online zine.

Just one of the many interesting places to bike in the San Francisco/Bay Area.

Wondering about Gil Scott-Heron's original lyrics  of the song that inspired the phrase "The Revolution Will Not Be Motorized" and the modified lyrics?
