Russ McCaskey co-anchors the five, six and 10 pm news for Channel 2. From tornadoes to the Oklahoma City bombing, Russ has covered some of the biggest stories in state history. He also traveled the globe covering complex world events, showing how they relate to viewers here in Green Country.

He produced, anchored and reported an award-winning documentary covering the Palestinian/Israeli conflict following a trip to Israel and the West Bank. He also traveled with a national guard unit on a C-17 to Europe the day NATO forces began bombing Kosovo in an effort to drive out the Serbs and restore peace. He went along with Congressman John Sullivan to Arizona to inspect the U.S. border with Mexico.

Still, some of his most memorable stories happened right here in Green Country, such as the ice storms of 2007, the Glenpool tank fire and witnessing the execution of a convicted murderer.

Russ has been honored for his work many times. He has won seven Emmy awards, more than 10 Associated Press awards, and a number of Society of Professional Journalism and Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters awards.

Russ volunteers his time through a number of groups and is currently the President-elect of the Oklahoma Associated Press of Broadcasters.

He has worked in TV for more than two decades, and most of that time was spent right here in Oklahoma.

He worked as a news anchor and reporter for KWTV in Oklahoma City, and he also worked in Southern Oklahoma as an anchor and reporter at KXII-TV near Lake Texoma.

Viewers may remember from 2001 through 2004, Russ co-anchored the morning and midday news with his wife Deb. They have two children, Morgan and Connor.
In his spare time you can usually find him cycling or running on the trails of River Parks. He is an avid triathlete and a two-time Ironman triathlon finisher.
