I recently received an email message from Jake Niesen reading:
Hi Dick, I was at a swap meet this past weekend and came across an ad for Sterling Engines. The ad (fortune magazine, 1946) featured Rock Island motor car 9049.
Jake wondered how we might make this interesting ad available to Rock Island fans, so I decided to first offer it on the RITS web site. I scanned the full-page ad in two parts - the top, showing a rendering of RI motorcar 9049, and the bottom, picturing the Sterling engine with accompanying text. Enjoy the pictures!
