This Rock Island bridge on the southwest corner of Fairbury, NE spans the Little Blue River.  It is believed to be the only RI Bridge in the Western Division that curved as it crossed a river.  The view is looking northeast just coming into Fairbury.  Downtown would be just beyond the trees in the center of the picture.  Passengers and the train crew were treated to this view of the waterfall created by the Fairbury Dam.  There used to be a sign on the riverbank that read, "Best Little Town by a Dam Site."  There are plans to convert the bridge into a hiking trail.
