The 2009 installment of Disturbed's Music As A Weapon trek has been
expanded into a full-fledged festival tour. The 38-city Music As A
Weapon IV Festival will feature two stages of hard rock and metal
acts, traveling tattoo artists, extreme sports demos and a
gaming/tech zone.
Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil, Chimaira and a number of other
as-yet-unnamed artists will join Disturbed on the road beginning
March 20 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. The stint
will crisscross the U.S. before finishing May 16 in Chicago.
Tickets for several shows go on sale on Jan. 30 and 31 via
Ticketmaster as well as via Musicasaweapon4.com/
Tattoo artists joining the festival include Hart & Huntington
Tattoo Company and Oliver Peck ("Miami Ink," "Bam's Unholy Union")
and freestyle motocross, BMX and skate teams will be performing.
Festivities begin at 2 p.m. daily.
Disturbed's first Music as a Weapon tour, which took place in 2001,
featured bands including Adema and Drowning Pool. The second was
documented in a live CD and DVD collection released in 2004.
Disturbed and P.O.D. took the show overseas to Australia and New
Zealand last year.
The Music As A Weapon IV Festival follows the success of
Disturbed's 2008 studio album, "Indestructible," which became the
Chicago group's third straight No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
