Traditionally, with the coming of the New Year, communities gather to share their aspirations. So, my virtual friends, if you have an aspiration for the coming 12 months, please offer it here.

There is a better solution that will expand health care access to all Americans and also help our struggling economy: eliminate private health insurance and create a single-payer system.

Hilary could not then and cannot now afford to promote 'soft power' for fear of appearing weak. 'Smart power', given her own concerns about politics and gender, is the best she can do.

When The Stimulus Plan left the House of Representatives, it was clocking in at 1,788 pages. For a bit of perspective, War and Peace - the longest novel in literary history - is 1,463 pages and is only slightly less boring.

Not only was He Kexin, the Chinese gymnast in question, born in 1994 and ineligible to compete in the Olympics, but Chinese officials, over the last few weeks, have tried to cover it all up.

Hey, I thought the conventional wisdom of many years was, if we just give China all of our jobs, they will become a free market society/democracy.
I think we've held our breath until we turned blue, here.
Still waiting for even ONE aspect of freedom over there.
Free Trade My A** _ !
I guess this is why Republicans hate America and love China. Anytime freedom is taken away, Rush Limbaugh lights a cigar.
There is so much truth to your statement. Everyone should watch the Ted Koppel series about Chinese capitalism. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/08/arts/television/08kopp.html. China is a Republican heaven. Contempt and control of the Press ... . little or no regulation, particularly when it. pertains to the environment... a one party political system that does not allow for dissent or contrary view, etc. The only thing missing is the Jesus thing.
There's so much you can control. Manipulating a population of 1 billion people is not simple. One day their system will fall fall apart. It could take years, decades or centuries. But when it will happen - It will be BAD. epic proportions bad. Now's a good time to relax things while they can without having too many problems and bloodshed.
