Among the nominated are: Michael d'Almeida (US Creteil), Kevin Sireau (Cofidis), Gregory Bauge (US Creteil). The first two could have already been admired during last year’s Europe Championships.

From there he raced through without loss to a finals showdown against Canberra's Dan Ellis who had qualified sixth fastest but rallied to progress through to the gold medal ride off.
