Tentative squad of the French team 2009-02-19 The French revealed a tentative composition of their team for the World Championships in March (25th-29th). Among the nominated are: Michael d'Almeida (US Creteil), Kevin Sireau (Cofidis), Gregory Bauge (US Creteil). The first two could have already been admired during last year’s Europe Championships.

Four members of the British squad will compete for Team Sky+HD, seven will ride for Team 100% ME, and 12 will represent Great Britain.

Perkins unstoppable in sprint 2009-02-04 Shane Perkins set up his win from the qualifying round where he posted a time of 10.175sec for the flying 200 metres to secure the top seeding. From there he raced through without loss to a finals showdown against Canberra's Dan Ellis who had qualified sixth fastest but rallied to progress through to the gold medal ride off.
