"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, unique features, drink recipes and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!
Over the years, the Olympics have featured lots of crazy events, like tug of war, rope climbing and live pigeon shooting.
Still, it will take a lot of lobbying to get events like mug sliding and olive tossing into the summer or winter games.
Fortunately, however, you don't need to travel to Vancouver or London, nor do you have to wait until 2010 or 2012 to see the events in action. You just need to head to the Milwaukee Ale House, 233 N. Water St., on Thursday, Feb. 26 for the first-ever OnMilwaukee.com Bartender Olympics.
The action runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at the brew pub, and 10 of your favorite bartenders from around the city compete in the fun. The events will include a mug slide, olive toss, cocktail mixer, bartender karaoke and more.
And, as part of OnMilwaukee.com Bar Month, spectators and general well-wishers can enjoy some Olympic-quality food and drink specials. Maker's Mark drinks are $3.50, Jameson and Absolut Mango drinks are $3, and Dr. McGillicuddy's Lemon Drop Schnapps cocktails are $2.
Watch for profiles on the competing bartenders on OnMilwaukee.com later this week.
And may the best man / woman win ...
