"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles -- including guides, unique features, drink recipes and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

The votes are in and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best: Bars & Clubs, 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all month long in the Bars and Clubs section of OnMilwaukee.com.

"Day drinking" can either be pitiful or awesome, depending on your perspective.

If hanging out in taverns and getting loaded in broad daylight is a regular occurrence for you, and you don't hold a third-shift job, well, you might have a problem.

On the other hand, if every once and a while, on a hot summer afternoon or during a Packers' Sunday, you make the commitment to tying one before noon, then day drinking can be pretty cool. Just don't make a habit of it, and don't forget to eat.

The readers of OnMilwaukee.com chose the Nomad World Pub as their top pick for day drinking destinations. And no wonder. With a great view of Brady Street from inside or on the patio outside, you can people-watch all day long, wondering why those poor suckers outside the bar aren't as drunk as you.

Not surprisingly, the Nomad is a regular winner of "best happy hour," too (though Rascal's took the prize in 2009). Day or night -- but especially day -- you can't go wrong with the Nomad's "Prix fixe," which is a shot of Jameson, a can of Pabst and a cigarette for $5.

And oh, yeah, the Nomad is dog friendly, too. Does it get any better?
