Tenderloin victim lived in SacramentoWednesday, February 25, 2009 (02-24) 17:01 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- The woman shot to death in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood was identified Tuesday as a 33-year-old Sacramento resident. Leticia Hunter was killed and five other people were wounded late Monday at Turk and Taylor streets when gunfire erupted from a Mercedes-Benz SUV with as many as four people inside, investigators said. San Francisco police chased the SUV across the Bay Bridge after the shooting was reported at 10:20 p.m., but lost sight of it before it got off the freeway, apparently in downtown Oakland. The Mercedes hit 110 mph as it fled, police said. About 1:30 a.m., the SUV was found ablaze at 34th Street and Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, police there said. It had temporary license plates, and there was no sign of the occupants. Investigators said Hunter had apparently been arguing with another woman on the street shortly before the shots were fired, but they were unsure whether there was a connection between the other woman and the Mercedes. Lise Tulau, a San Francisco resident, said at the scene that Hunter was her sister's wife. She described her as "nice, pretty, educated and outgoing." Hunter's brother, who is also from Sacramento, was among the five other people who were shot, police said. All are expected to survive, police said, and two have already been released from the hospital.
