Yossi Verter, Mazal Mualem, and Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondents: Livni offers Barak 'full partnership' in coalition
Talkback
Title:Livni & Barak hate democracy just as much as Olmert does

Its debatable if Israel is a democracy or not because of the political system but this Kadima / Labour regime has shown time and time again how they dont like to even attempt democracy.

Rather than keep his promise and call for an early election Barak did a deal with Olmert he chose kadima primaries & Labour would join a kadima coalition under a new PM.

Livni for all her promises of change is now trying to avoid an election by trying to put together a coalition with whoever she can get to join her.
This is the woman who is now PM as a result of 431 Kadima members.

A simple handover of power from Olmert - whoever won the Kaidma primary alone was anti democratic but considering that she only won the primary by 431 votes it means she has not been given a mandate to run the country by either the majority of the public or even the most of her own party.

For the past 2 years the public have been demanding elections not Livni or Barak but they want to us to wait years for it.
