In case you haven't noticed, Counter-Strike 1.6 is indeed final. Final in that leagues and everyone else will now be using it. It may be updated, however, which is one of the major features of Steam. The developers at VALVe will be able to balance the game's major changes without doing another major release.

Steam is and always will be required to play CS 1.6.

RESTARTS AND CRASHES AT EVERY TURN!!! The best part is I'm good at the game to. I'm assuming the object of the game is to crash and freeze and restart as many times as possible, I mean thats what happened in the beta versions right? EDIT: 45% w00t EDIT: PROGESS!!, I didn't even restart it and it downgraded to 28%, call me a hacker!! Unknown to this person, im still having a hard time with the 400 meg one.

comment #10 lopinboy 4:49 pm pdt - 9/14/03	Maybe now they will balance out the AR dominance and unnerf the pumpshotty, while upping the SMGs effectiveness... but then again, this is VALVe, who want to make sure any newb can get into CS, buy a galil or m4, and just run around spraying.

I love my giant red text avatar!! 5:13 pm pdt - 9/14/03	i am dissatisfied with 1.6 the AK47 needs to be stronger or more accurate, as of now it is actually worse than the galil which is $500 less btw, the gamespy ads seem to be triggered by clicking the mouse instead of clicking a link, which is a huge pain up the arse and needs to be fixed

Bushwacker 5:24 pm pdt - 9/14/03	i like 1.6 and the shield.. theres bugs (mainly wit the sheild) ie cant have a silenced usp, usp doesnt look like its shooting in 1person sped mode when someone fires, and glock falls off teh screen in 1person spec with sheild but i like it overall. What i dont like is i get the same feeling i got when i would place de_simpsons, or that lego map.. it feels younger, and more pretend. THe guns also are hard to get used to.

I tried it with my old 1.5 titles.txt and it worked great, 'cept it was without buy options for all the new stuff and didn't take into account that the order of guns on the buy menu has changed. Unfortunately, nobody has yet to release a version of titles.txt for 1.6 that contains the correct gun names as well as all the new equipment. (AHEM, WILL SOMEBODY GET ON THIS PLEASE?!?!?!) I've been poring over the CS forums and a few websites, and nothing exists as yet; nextwish.org's previous fix doesn't work with 1.6. I don't think everyone realizes that any titles.txt you put into the cstrike directory will work. I'd do it myself but I don't know how to write the file. how can i put custom models into steam tho? someone help, i hate the standards of some of them Go to the CS forums and there's quite a few posts telling you how to do that.
