SALES MANAGER

Veteran online publisher Salon.com seeks a Sales Manager for its busy ad sales department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete RFPs and proposals using Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations and web-based programs such as MediaVisor and Atlas.
  • Work with Ad Traffic to implement online ad campaigns, traffic materials and reserve inventory.
  • Analyze and report ad campaign effectiveness. Oversee East Coast campaign delivery to ensure goals are met.
  • Fulfill all client requests for reports, screenshots, etc. Support East Coast sales representatives with additional needs/requirements.
  • Work closely with other Salon departments including Finance, Production, and Editorial to meet client goals in a timely manner.
  • Occasional travel throughout designated territory.
  • Generate "big ideas" for new advertising possibilities on the site.

Prior experience should include:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in online media (agency or publisher) including a thorough understanding of CPMs and third-party ad serving.
  • Proficiency in Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Attention to detail; and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong proposal writing experience is desired.
